The PSOE presented on February 12, 2015 a series of amendments to the nationality project for Sephardim which seek to include a number of descendants of Spanish citizens that have been excluded from previous nationality reforms. The amendments include the adult children of those that acquired Spanish citizenship of origin through the Historical Memory Law (Ley de Memoria Histórica, 2007-2011), grandchildren of Spanish women and grandchildren of Spanish emigrants who naturalized abroad. Furthermore, the amendments seek to eliminate the declaration requirement of grandchildren to be able to retain their Spanish citizenship.
